Grey Horse Press Release #4
NATIVE COUNTRY MUSIC - June 22, 2016. For Immediate Release.
Grey Horse to release first CD on July 8 with pre-order currently available. Recorded at Alnico Studio, Austin, Texas. Nico Leophonte not only drummed on all tracks, he also ran the recording with Blue Mongeon.
Alnico Studio is a full service recording studio located on a tranquil greenbelt in the heart of south Austin. Minutes from the SoCo venues and downtown, Alnico Studio offers state-of-the-art recording equipment, several instruments including Kawai piano and Hammond organ, high-end microphones and speakers, and everything else needed for professional recording, mixing, and mastering.
Alnico Studio is owned by Nicolas Leophonte, the multi-talented musician from Toulouse, France, who found his way to Austin in 1997 and has been drumming, recording, engineering, advising, creating, and entertaining ever since. Some of the folks Nico has worked with includes Bo Diddley, Hal Ketchum, The BoDeans, Gary Clark Jr., Nick Curran, Denny Freeman, Christopher Cross, Eric Johnson, and many, many others.
Blue Mongeone put his Berklee experience to task early in his career by finding success with the band The Dalles after the FX series “Sons of Anarchy” used the song “Lines” from their 2012 album, “My Own Private White House.” A multi-year project that he started about that same time, Blue’s 17-track CD titled, “The Fall of a Self-Proclaimed King....” is an exploration in Austin musicianship, with over three dozen musicians working with Blue on the project.
This is the fourth of a series of releases by Native Country Music for the Grey Horse CD. Pre-order the CD today at GetAustinMusic.com for the July 8 release.
